Error Rate of the Kane Quantum Computer CNOT Gate in the Presence of Dephasing

چکیده
We study the error rate of CNOT operations in the Kane solid state quantum computer architecture [1]. A spin Hamiltonian is used to describe the system. Dephasing is included as exponential decay of the off diagonal elements of the system’s density matrix. Using available spin echo decay data, the CNOT error rate is estimated at approximately 10.

Gates for the Kane Quantum Computer in the Presence of Dephasing
In this paper we investigate the effect of dephasing on proposed quantum gates for the solid-state Kane quantum computing architecture. Using a simple model of the decoherence, we find that the typical error in a CNOT gate is 8.3 × 10. We also compute the fidelities of Z, X, Swap, and Controlled Z operations under a variety of dephasing rates. We show that these numerical results are comparable...
متن کاملA New Design for Two-input XOR Gate in Quantum-dot Cellular Automata
Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) technology is attractive due to its low power consumption, fast speed and small dimension, therefore, it is a promising alternative to CMOS technology. In QCA, configuration of charges plays the role which is played by current in CMOS. This replacement provides the significant advantages. Additionally, exclusive-or (XOR) gate is a useful building block in man...
متن کاملQuantum pathology of static internal imperfections in flawed quantum computers
Even in the absence of external influences the operability of a quantum computer (QC) is not guaranteed because of the effects of residual one– and two–body imperfections. Here we investigate how these internal flaws affect the performance of a quantum controlled-NOT (CNOT) gate in an isolated flawed QC. First we find that the performance of the CNOT gate is considerably better when the two–bod...
متن کاملMaximal success probabilities of linear-optical quantum gates
Numerical optimization is used to design linear-optical devices that implement a desired quantum gate with perfect fidelity, while maximizing the success rate. For the two-qubit controlled-sign or controlled NOT CNOT gate, we provide numerical evidence that the maximum success rate is S=2 /27 using two unentangled ancilla resources; interestingly, additional ancilla resources do not increase th...
متن کاملOn The Complexity of Quantum Circuit Manipulation
The stabilizer class of circuits, introduced by Daniel Gottesman, consists of quantum circuits in which every gate is a controlled-NOT (CNOT), Hadamard or phase gate [5]. These circuits have several interesting properties. For example, they are robust enough to allow for entangled states, yet they are known to be simulable in polynomial time by a classical computer. These circuits also naturall...
